FAQs
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions. If you don’t see an answer to your question, please feel free to email us at chef@galetteatl.com.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
Our address is 110 N. Avondale Rd., Avondale Estates, GA 30002.
Our hours are Wed-Fri from 7am to 3pm and Sat-Sun 8am to 2pm.
Is there parking?
There is limited parking available both in front of and behind our building. Many of the streets in Avondale Estates allow street parking and there are public lots a block in either direction. Here is a link to the City’s website detailing where the public lots can be found.

Do you accept pre-orders or special orders?
We do not accept day-of call ahead orders and do not have any kind of daily online pre-order system currently set up. We do occasionally have special pre-orders for holidays and post about those via social media and through our email list when they are available.
If you have an event or birthday or other special occasion for which you’d like to order pastry, please email us at chef@galetteatl.com with the details of your request and we will get back to you.
DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING GLUTEN-FREE OR ALLERGY SAFE?
We do aim to bake some pastries that do not have gluten or nuts in them, but we also take allergies very seriously at Galette. We always advise that our gluten-friendly and nut-friendly items are for the more casually gluten-free or nut-free lifestyles. We work with both nuts and flour in the bakery and there is always the possibility of cross-contamination. We do label all of the common allergens on our item tags, but if you have a specific allergy or sensitivity, it's always best to make it known to staff or ask.
DO YOU WHOLESALE?
We are prioritizing our daily walk-in customers and not looking for wholesale partners at the time.
WHY CAN'T I GET MY PASTRY ON A PLATE?
We don't have a customer accessible restroom, so everything must be packaged to go.
IS EVERYTHING MADE IN HOUSE?
Yes. We don't roast our own coffee beans or press our own juice, but everything from our chai concentrate to our jams to our macarons are all made in the bakery.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH SOURDOUGH?
Sourdough starter is a stable culture of yeast and lactic acid bacteria in a flour and water mixture. While it is possible to make a gluten-free sourdough starter, ours is named Fred and always contains gluten. It is also possible use sourdough discard in recipes that don't require much leavening (pancakes, cookies, brownies, crackers, etc), but traditionally you are going to use sourdough starter as a flavorful leavening agent. You will see it at Galette in recipes that would usually use yeast in a home kitchen. All of our croissants and most of our breads are made with sourdough. Our sourdough is cultivated to be flavorful, but not overly sour in order to appeal to a wide range of palates.
"MY PARTNER LOVES (INSERT DESSERT WE DON'T MAKE) BUT LOVES YOUR BAKERY. CAN YOU MAKE THIS FOR THEM THIS WEEKEND?"
While we are so grateful your person loves our treats, we're a small team that turns out a lot of pastry weekly. In order to keep our regular case stocked with a wide array of pastry, we have to plan our bakes weekly and sometimes plan a month out. We adore being part of our customers' special events, but don't always have the time to recipe test new items that aren't part of our current repertoire. We're always happy to direct you to more manageable options or take the Miracle on 34th Street approach. If we don't have it and know someone who does, we'll always direct you there.
DO YOU TAKE CASH?
We are a cashless establishment. Bakery life means that there are always people in the shop in the early mornings. We don't keep any cash on the premises as a precautionary measure.
CAN I GET A LATTE/CORTADO/CAPPUCCINO?
We are first and foremost a pastry shop, so we don't have espresso beverages. We proudly use Parlor Coffee's Prospect blend for our drip coffee and cold brew. We're happy to make your drip coffee into an au lait, or offer you hot tea or hot chocolate. We have such a small space that currently an espresso machine/the plumbing it would require is not an option/priority for us. We do partner with a number of local espresso carts for pop-ups and we're always happy to direct you to the many lovely local full service coffee shops around us.
I’d like to request a donation for my organization or event. How do I go about doing that?
We have a form for that! Please fill out this form with your request and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
